Saveur loves Chicago

The entire October issue of Saveur magazine is dedicated to Chicago food! While those of us who live in the Second to None City have always been proud of our food heritage and dining scene from hot dog-and-beef stands to four-star standard bearers of avant-garde cuisine, it’s gratifying to see that others (i.e., New Yorkers) are finally starting to recognize our gastronomic greatness. Last year, Gourmet named Alinea the best restaurant in America and GQ‘s Alan Richman even dubbed Chicago the best restaurant city in America. Good man.

Saveur‘s Chicago issue hits newsstands next week. In the meantime, there’s some web-only content on their site to whet your appetite.

  2. Hee hee! This other food critic wrote something like “Chicago is the best food town in the America, except for New York, of course.” Of course?!
